Get found and never miss a customerMCP and API access for AI assistants

Agent-ready business, so customers' AI assistants get answers straight from you.

An agent-ready business gives AI assistants an official, secure way to ask it questions and send it requests. Alpine Ops builds an MCP server or API for your business that shares the facts you choose, like services, hours, service area and availability, and passes along quote or booking requests. You confirm anything that changes something. It's early, and we'll tell you plainly whether it's worth it for you yet.

01What's changing

Customers are starting to send their AI assistant to do the asking.

More people ask an AI assistant to find a business, compare options, check hours, or ask for a quote, instead of searching and calling themselves.

Today, most assistants do that by reading websites and listings, and they sometimes get things wrong. Some assistants can now also connect to a business directly, through an API or a standard called MCP, and ask for exact answers. Your business can meet them at whichever level makes sense, starting with the simplest.

Who it's for

  • Field service and contractors
  • Shops with inventory
  • Restaurants that take orders
  • Clinics and offices with schedules
  • Trucking and dispatch
  1. Level1

    Readable: your website

    An llms.txt file and structured data put your facts in plain view for any assistant that reads your site.

    Included in every site we build
  2. Level2

    Connected: an API

    A secure doorway other software can use to ask your systems for answers, like open times or a job's status.

  3. Level3

    Agent-ready: an MCP server

    A standard way for AI assistants to see what they can ask you, get exact answers, and send requests for you to confirm.

02MCP in a sentence

What MCP is, without the jargon.

MCP is a shared standard that lets AI assistants plug into tools and data the same way every time, so a business only has to build the connection once.

MCPThe Model Context Protocol

An open standard, introduced by Anthropic in late 2024, that lets AI assistants connect to tools and data.

For your business, in plain words

An MCP server is a list of things an assistant is allowed to ask you or request from you, like "what are your hours?" or "send a quote request", with your exact answers behind each one. Assistants that support MCP can read that list and use it.

And an API?

An API is a doorway into your systems that other software can use. MCP is a standard way of describing that doorway so AI assistants know what's there. Some businesses need one, some need both, many need neither yet.

03What we build

An MCP server or API that answers for your business.

We've built MCP servers and APIs for our own products. For your business, we build one that shares exactly what you choose, from the systems you already use.

  • Services and what's included

    What you do, and what you don't, in your own words.

  • Hours, including holidays

    Always current, from one place you control.

  • Service area

    Which towns you cover, so assistants stop guessing.

  • Availability or quote requests

    Open windows you choose to share, and requests that come to you to confirm.

  • Job or order status

    Where a job or order stands, shared only with the right customer.

  • Whatever else fits

    Common questions, menus, inventory. We'll talk through what makes sense.

1An assistant asks

Tool call to your MCP serverExample
// a customer asked their assistant to
// get a furnace quote in Roosevelt
{
  "method": "tools/call",
  "params": {
    "name": "request_quote",
    "arguments": {
      "service": "furnace service",
      "town": "Roosevelt",
      "when": "next week, mornings"
    }
  }
}

2Your business answers

Your server's answerExample
// simplified for reading
{
  "serves_town": true,
  "open_mornings": ["Tue", "Thu"],
  "status": "sent to the owner",
  "booked": false,
  "next": "owner confirms a time"
}

3You confirm

Quote requestNeeds your okay
From
A customer's AI assistant
Service
Furnace service
Town
Roosevelt
When
Next week, mornings
Confirm TuesdayCall them

Example, made-up business. The assistant gets an exact answer. Nothing is booked until the owner confirms.

04You stay in charge

The assistant can ask. You approve anything that changes something.

We build it propose-then-confirm, the same way our own MCP servers work: an assistant can propose a booking, a quote or an order, and a person confirms it. Actions that delete or cancel things aren't available at all.

Answers on its own

Facts you've chosen to share.

  • Services and what's included
  • Hours and holiday hours
  • Service area
  • Open time windows you share
  • Job or order status, for the right customer

Waits for your okay

Anything that changes something.

  • Booking requests
  • Quote requests
  • Orders
  • Changes to an existing job

Never available

Left out of what it can do.

  • Deleting anything
  • Cancelling jobs or orders
  • Changing your records
  • Anything you haven't approved

05The simplest layer

Not ready for an MCP server? Start with your website.

The first level of agent access is a website that AI assistants can read correctly. It comes with every website we build, and it helps today.

Every website we build ships with structured data and an llms.txt file: plain, consistent facts about your business that assistants can pick up. It's also the foundation of SEO and GEO, being found and described accurately in search and AI answers.

  • An llms.txt file: a plain summary of your business for AI assistants.
  • Structured data: your business facts, FAQs and pages in a format machines read.
  • Clear, current facts: services, hours and service area that match everywhere.
  • FAQs in plain words: answers to the questions people actually ask.

06Is it worth it yet?

Is it worth it for your business yet? An honest answer.

This is early. For some businesses an MCP server or API makes sense now. For many, a well-built website is the right step today, and the rest can wait.

Worth a look now if

  • You answer the same questions all day: are you open, do you cover my town, when can you come out.
  • Your schedule, inventory or job status already lives in software.
  • You take requests or orders online and want to make that easier.

Probably not yet if

  • Your website is out of date or missing basic facts. Start there.
  • Your schedule and availability live in your head or on paper.
  • Most of your work comes from a few long-standing accounts.

We'll tell you which side you're on. At the free consult we look at how customers reach you now. If the answer is not yet, we'll say so.

9.1What is MCP?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard introduced by Anthropic in late 2024 that lets AI assistants connect to tools and data. For a business, an MCP server is a way for assistants that support MCP to ask you questions and send you requests directly, instead of guessing from your website. Our guide What is MCP? explains it in plain English.

9.2Do I need an MCP server, an API, or both?

It depends on who needs to reach you. An API is a doorway any software can use. An MCP server describes that doorway in a standard way AI assistants understand. Many businesses need neither yet, and an llms.txt file and structured data on your website are the right first step.

9.3Can an AI assistant book or order without me?

No. Anything that changes something, like a booking request, a quote request or an order, comes to you to confirm first. Actions that delete or cancel things are left out entirely.

9.4What information does it share?

Only what you choose. Usually that means services, hours, service area and open time windows. Anything about a specific customer, like the status of their job, is only shared with that customer after a check.

9.5Is this worth it for a small business right now?

For some businesses, yes. For many, not yet. It's early, and we'll tell you honestly at the free consult which side you're on. If the answer is not yet, we'll say so and point you to the simpler steps that help today.

9.6How much does agent access cost?

It's quoted up front, before anything starts. It can be its own project or part of a larger build, and you know the exact price before we begin.
