Getting started
New to all this? Start with AI consulting and the free consult.
I don't know anything about AI. Is that a problem?
No. That's exactly who we work with. You know your business. We bring the AI part and explain it in plain words.
What does Alpine Ops do?
Alpine Ops is an AI consulting and automation company based in Vernal, Utah. We sit down with you, find the work your people do by hand, build the fix for a fixed price, and keep it running as your AI department. We also build websites, SEO and GEO, AI phone answering, website chatbots and agent access (MCP and API).
Where should I start?
With the free 30-minute consult. Tell us what eats your week, and we'll tell you plainly which service, if any, is worth doing first. AI consulting is usually the right first step, because it finds the biggest wins inside the business.
What should I have ready for the consult?
Nothing special. It helps to think about where the time goes in a normal week: what gets typed more than once, what's still on paper, and which reports someone builds by hand.
Pricing and the five steps
The full path, step by step, is on the AI consulting page.
How much do your services cost?
The consult is free. The AI process analysis is $500. Builds are a fixed price, typically $2,500 to $15,000 depending on scope, and you know the exact price before any work starts. Websites, SEO and GEO, phone answering, chatbots and agent access are quoted up front, or included in your build.
Is the consult really free?
Yes. The 30-minute consult is free and there's no obligation. If it makes sense to go further, the next step is the $500 AI process analysis, and we'll tell you that up front.
What do I get for the $500 analysis?
We go through how your work actually flows, step by step, with you and your people: who enters what, into which system, and how many times. Out of that come our recommendations: what to automate, speed up or improve, in plain language and in priority order.
How much does a build cost?
A fixed price, typically $2,500 to $15,000 depending on scope. You know the exact price before any work starts.
What are the five steps?
First, a free 30-minute consult. Second, the $500 AI process analysis. Third, our recommendations, in plain language and priority order. Fourth, a fixed-price build, typically $2,500 to $15,000 depending on scope. Fifth, Your AI department, ongoing: check-ins, upkeep and upgrades as AI improves.
Do I have to build everything you recommend?
No. Our recommendations come in priority order, and you choose what gets built. Each build has a fixed price you know before any work starts.
Meetings and recording
More on how the sit-down works on the contact page.
Do you record our meetings?
Yes, with your okay. We record our consult and analysis conversations, transcribe them, and go back through the whole transcript, so every detail you mention makes it into our recommendations. If there's something you'd rather keep off the recording, say so and we'll pause.
Why do you record and transcribe?
So nothing is missed. Details get lost in a long conversation. With your okay, we record and transcribe it and review the full transcript, so the small things you mention make it into our recommendations.
What if I don't want to be recorded?
Then we don't record. Recording only happens with your okay, and if there's something you'd rather keep off the recording, say so and we'll pause.
Where do meetings happen, and who will we meet with?
At your place or by phone. We come to your shop, office, yard or clinic in the Uintah Basin, and you sit down with a real person, not a call center or a ticket queue.
Automation and builds
See what we actually build for examples across clinics, shops, contractors and more.
What do you actually build?
Whatever the analysis shows is worth building. Common builds connect the systems you already use so a customer, job or ticket is entered once; turn paper tickets, forms and invoices into data from a photo; produce daily and weekly reports automatically; draft quotes and invoices for you to review; give your crew or office a simple tool built around how you work; and add AI assistants that help your staff draft replies, summarize calls and documents, and look things up in your own data.
Do I have to replace the software we use now?
No. We start with the systems you already use and connect them, so your people keep working the way they know.
Will AI send things or make decisions without us?
No. A person stays in the loop for anything that matters. AI assistants draft emails, replies, quotes and invoices, and a person approves anything that goes out. When paper is read into the computer, a person checks anything flagged.
How does a build work?
You know the fixed price before any work starts. We start with the systems you already use, keep a person in the loop for anything that matters, test it with your real work, and show your people how to use it. Then it can roll into Your AI department, if you want that.
Have you built things like this before?
Yes, for our own business and products: a restaurant menu platform with an AI assistant, a customer portal, internal dashboards and trackers, and websites with an owner studio.
Data and reporting
More on data, reporting and dashboards.
Can you put all our numbers in one place?
That's what our reporting work does. We connect the systems you already use, such as your accounting software, scheduling and dispatch, job tracker, spreadsheets, field tickets, email and phone logs, and feed them into one place. Then the reports build themselves.
What is a business dashboard?
One screen that shows how your business is doing, like jobs completed, open work, billing and missed calls, pulled from your own systems and kept up to date. You see the business at a glance without asking anyone for the numbers.
Why don't our reports agree with each other?
Usually because the same numbers get typed into more than one place, and the copies drift apart. When information is entered once and pulled from the source, your reports agree with each other.
Can our weekly reports build themselves?
Yes. Once your sources are connected, daily or weekly reports and dashboards are pulled together automatically, so nobody spends Friday afternoon pasting numbers into a spreadsheet.
Your AI department
More on Your AI department.
What does “your AI department” mean?
Like a company has an IT department, we become your AI department. We check in regularly on your processes, make sure everything keeps working, and keep upgrading as AI improves, so you always have the latest and best for your business.
Do we need Your AI department after a build?
No, it's your choice. After a build, it can roll into Your AI department if you want that: regular check-ins, keeping everything working, and upgrades as AI improves.
What happens at a check-in?
We look at your processes and how the work flows, make sure everything we built is still working, and bring you the upgrades worth making as AI improves.
Websites and the customer portal
More on websites and the customer portal.
How much does a website cost?
It depends on what your business needs, so we quote it up front, before anything starts. A website can be its own project or part of a larger build. You know the exact price before we begin.
How do I make changes to my site?
Through your customer portal. Type the change you want, or record a voice note. We build an updated draft quickly, you compare the before and after on phone and desktop, and you approve it. Only then does it go live. If you change your mind, you can undo it.
What do the traffic stats in the portal show?
Privacy-friendly visitor insights: how many people visited, where they came from (including AI assistants like ChatGPT), your top pages, and the calls and taps your site sent you.
What is an llms.txt file?
A plain text file on your website that sums up your business facts for AI assistants: who you are, what you do, where you work, your hours and how to reach you. Every site we build ships with one, along with structured data, a sitemap and robots rules.
Do you host the website?
Yes. We build it and host it on modern hosting, so you don't have to deal with servers, renewals or updates.
SEO and GEO
The full explainer is on our SEO and GEO page.
What is SEO?
SEO, search engine optimization, is the work of being found on Google and Maps when people search for what you do, near where you are. For a local business that means accurate page titles and descriptions, fast pages, structured data, a sitemap, the same name, phone and hours everywhere, and service and town pages written for real searches.
What is GEO?
GEO, generative engine optimization, is the work of being found, described accurately and recommended when people ask AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews. It comes down to publishing clear, factual, well-structured information, like an llms.txt file, structured data and FAQs, and keeping it consistent across the web. Our guide What is GEO? explains it in plain English.
What is a Google Business Profile, and why does it matter?
It's Google's free business listing, the one that powers Google Maps and the local results. A complete profile includes your categories, hours, services, photos, posts, and reviews with your replies. It drives local calls and map results, so we help you claim it, complete it and keep it accurate and consistent with your website. Our Google Business Profile checklist walks through it.
Why should our name, address and phone match everywhere?
Search engines and AI assistants compare what different places on the web say about your business. When your name, address and phone number match everywhere, they can be confident they have the right business and the right details. When they don't match, customers are more likely to see the wrong information.
Can you guarantee we'll rank first?
No. Nobody can honestly promise rankings, positions or traffic numbers, and we won't. What we do is check how you show up for a set of real local searches, in Google and in AI assistants, and report back to you.
Phone answering and chatbots
Two services, one brain: AI phone answering and website chatbots.
How does AI phone answering work?
When you can't pick up, after hours or when the line is busy, an AI assistant answers in your business's name. It knows your hours, services and common answers, takes a message with the caller's name, number and what they need, and texts you a summary right away. Urgent calls get flagged according to rules you set.
Do I keep my phone number?
Yes. Your main number forwards to the assistant, so you keep your number.
Can I hear it before I decide?
Yes. Ask us for a demo and we'll show you how it handles the kinds of calls your business gets.
What does a website chatbot do?
It's a chat assistant on your website that handles general questions and inquiries the same way our AI phone answering handles calls. It answers from your own information (services, hours, service area and the policies you provide), takes the customer's name, contact info and what they need, sends you a summary right away, and hands off to a person when needed.
Can the phone or chat assistant book appointments?
Yes, if your build includes appointment scheduling. We connect them to your scheduling so customers can book a time on the phone or in the chat. If you'd rather confirm times yourself, they take the customer's details and send you a summary instead.
How much do phone answering and chatbots cost?
They're quoted up front, before anything starts, or included as part of your build.
Agent access (MCP and API)
More on the agent-ready business page.
What is MCP?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard introduced by Anthropic in late 2024 that lets AI assistants connect to tools and data. A business can offer a secure MCP server so assistants that support MCP can get accurate answers straight from it. Our guide What is MCP? explains it in plain English.
Why would customers' AI assistants contact my business?
Customers increasingly ask AI assistants to find, compare, book or order for them. A secure MCP server or API lets those assistants get accurate answers straight from you: services, hours, service area, availability or quote requests, order or job status, whatever fits your business.
Can an AI assistant change things in my business without me?
No. Anything that changes something, like a booking request, a quote request or an order, comes to you to confirm first. Our own MCP servers work the same way: they propose, a person confirms, and destructive actions are left out entirely.
Does my business need to be agent-ready yet?
Maybe not yet. Agent access is early, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth it for your business yet. The simplest layer, an llms.txt file and structured data on your website, is a sensible place to start.
